The Prof. Dr. Assen Zlatarov University is the only state higher education institution in Southeast Bulgaria, located in Burgas. It was originally founded on 6 October 1963 by Decree No. 162 of the Council of Ministers as the Higher Chemico-Technological Institute. In 1995, it was officially elevated to full university status. The institution combines theoretical knowledge with extensive practical training in laboratories and clinical bases.
