Open University of West Africa (OUWA) was founded in Ghana in November 2011 by John Roberts and Patrick Steele. The goal of OUWA is to break the poverty cycle in West Africa through online education, providing extremely low-cost education at US$10/year. Located in Ghana, OUWA aims to encourage each student to become an agent of change in the fight against poverty.
