The University of Ghana, located in Legon about 12 kilometers northeast of Accra, is one of the premier universities in Africa. Originally an affiliate college of the University of London, it gained full university status in 1961. The university is known for its diverse academic programs, including unique offerings in Nuclear Physics and Nuclear Engineering. With over 60,000 registered students, it is one of the largest universities in Ghana.
