The American University in Bulgaria (AUBG) is a private, liberal arts university located in Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria. Founded in 1991, it is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) and the New England Commission on Higher Education (NECHE). AUBG offers a variety of bachelor's and master's degrees in the arts, sciences, and business. It is the first American-style undergraduate liberal arts educational institution in Eastern Europe, established with the support of the U.S. and Bulgarian governments, the Open Society Institute, and the University of Maine.
