The Hassiba Benbouali University of Chlef is a public university in Algeria in the province of Chlef, founded in 2001 by grouping several national higher education institutions into one. The university is named after Hassiba Benbouali who died as a martyr of the Algerian Independence War, aged 19 in 1957. The university has nearly 26,000 students enrolled across nine faculties, with around 75 undergraduate level specialties and over 100 masters level specialties.
