Heiligenkreuz Abbey, or Stift Heiligenkreuz, is a Cistercian monastery located in the village of Heiligenkreuz in Lower Austria. It is the oldest continuously occupied Cistercian monastery in the world, dating back to 1133. The abbey is known for its vibrant community and theological training, and it houses the Priesterseminar Leopoldinum, a theological college for men preparing for the priesthood. The monastery is also renowned for its architectural beauty, including a Romanesque-Gothic cloister and Baroque constructions.
