The University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI) is one of the oldest colleges in Canada with a history dating to the early 19th century in two founding institutions: Prince of Wales College (est. 1834) and St. Dunstan’s University (est. 1855). It is located on 140 acres in Charlottetown, the capital of the Prince Edward Islands, a harbor town near beaches and with a variety of annual cultural events. UPEI is a public liberal arts university relatively the same size as FMU with about 4,400 students.
