Founded on 1 December 1922, the Universitatea Națională de Educație Fizică și Sport (UNEFS) in Bucharest is the first Romanian higher‑education institution dedicated to training physical‑education teachers. It was the tenth such institution worldwide and the fifth in Europe, and has received a High Degree of Confidence rating from the ARACIS Council in its external evaluations. The university offers bachelor’s, master’s and doctorate programmes in physical education and sport fields.
