School of Architecture and Planning

The School of Architecture and Planning at Wits University was formed in 2001 by the amalgamation of the former departments of Architecture and Town and Regional Planning. It established South Africa’s first National Research Foundation funded Research Chair in the field of planning in 2010. The school introduced new streams of postgraduate study in urban studies and sustainable and energy efficient cities in 2012.
