Template — UCAS personal statement
Since 2026 entry, the UCAS personal statement is split into three questions. Universities read the answers together, so each one should lead into the next.
Document contents
- The template, ready to fill in: replace each field in brackets
- A page of advice to adapt it to your situation
- Answer all three: Each answer needs at least 350 characters. Share the rest as you need.
- Count in UCAS Hub: Write in a document, then paste into UCAS Hub. The count includes spaces.
- Your own words: UCAS checks statements for similarity. Do not copy examples.
