Template — Statement of purpose
A statement of purpose explains where you come from, what you want to study and why at this institution. It reads as an argument, not a life story.
Document contents
- The template, ready to fill in: replace each field in brackets
- A page of advice to adapt it to your situation
- One argument: Every paragraph should support why you fit this programme.
- Evidence: Back each skill with a project, grade or result.
- Tailored: Your third section should not fit any other programme.
This document is for you if…
- You are preparing an application and want a strong file
- You want a clear template to adapt to your programme
- You want to avoid the mistakes that cost an admission
